Primary duties:
Manage staff, including, but not limited to, staff evaluations, monitoring and scheduling required staff training, seminars, and conferences. Oversee the residential budget and work with staff schedules to ensure overtime stays within guidelines. Responsible for scheduling Direct Support Professionals and covering shifts as necessary. On-call, 24 hours a day - in case of an emergency, in cooperation with other management staff. Works to maintain the consumer's finances, monitor the health, and report on the medical needs of everyone. Monitors fiscal, medical, personal, and ISP documentation to ensure accuracy. Serves as an active member of each Person's Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT), including involvement in Individual Habilitation Plan development. Submits monthly written reports to the appropriate individuals outlining operational status, progress, and concerns. Prepares progress reports for consumers' immediate support group, including their family and guardian, staff, employment specialist, case manager, and other professionals, including monthly and quarterly reviews. Ensures that staff is documenting daily accurately, and current plans are being implemented, ensuring our consumer's overall needs are met, i.e., employment, recreational, and emotional. Comply with all internal and state regulations and participates in all inspections and investigations. Ensures all safety training for consumers and staff is provided and documented according to established procedures and schedules.
Minimum qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must Pass Health Screening and TB test.
- Must be first Aid and CPR certified.
- Must pass Criminal Record Clearance (DOJ and FBI Background check)
- Bachelor's degree or five years’ experience in Home Community Based Service or related field. Able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements for providing the type of care and supervision needed by clients, including communication with clients.
- Provide for continuous supervision of clients.
- Knowledge and capable of Supervise the operation of the day program.
- Communicate with the licensing agency as required by applicable laws and regulations.
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain or supervise the maintenance of financial and other records.
- Direct the work of others, when applicable.
- Establish the policy, program, and budget.
- Knowledge and capable of Recruit, employ, train, and evaluate qualified day program staff, and terminate employees.
- Acknowledge the receipt of the Department's correspondence, deficiency notices, or field reports when the Department has requested a response.
- Ensure the timely correction of all cited deficiencies.
- Knowledge and capable of adjust the program to accommodate the needs of all clients.
- Coordinate all activities and services.
- Provide initial orientation for all staff & ongoing educational and training programs for direct care staff.
- Arrange for special provision for the care and supervision, including health, safety, and guidance, of clients who have special needs.
- These provisions may include additional staff to supervise clients who wander, to maintain mechanical medical aids, and to monitor toileting schedules.
- Other special needs may include safety and emergency information in large lettering or in braille and lights.
- Knowledge and understanding of local regulatory agency operations. Understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilities. Flexibility to deal with people at various levels, both internally and externally.
- Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Two years of hands-on experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Have experience with an electronic case management system.
- Have experience with individual service plans (Person-centered goal development)
- Strong applied experience with Titles 17 & 22.
- Work hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-3:00 pm, or beside on client and company needs.
